Chicken Little 3D Digital :)

Finally went to watch Chicken Little yesterday! Have been waiting for it to come to UK for ages. That said, it's been showing here since last month. But I'd only found some time to watch it yesterday. Not knowing that it is a 3D show, I bought the tickets and was given the 3D glasses and stupidly asked the guy at the box office if that is a free gift :P.

Some people say it's kiddo, some say it's nice. I say, good graphics, and another father-son story, quite touching and cute! (I wonder when I will start to get sick with cute things?, which I haven't seem to be although I've already lived presumably quarter of my life)

The Waiting Game

Everyday there is always something we have to wait for. Waking up in the morning, we wait for the kettle to boil or the toaster to toast its bread. Get out of the house and head for work or school or wherever the destination is, we wait for the bus or train to come, wait for Mum or bf to fetch, wait for the someone we are taking a lift from? wait for the car pool colleagues? etc...or hop into the car, head for the road, and wait for the lights to turn green, the pedestrain to cross the road or the traffic police to give a "Go" signal...or even the car in front to move a bit more in the traffic queue...Time to go home from wherever we were, work, school, shopping? etc?...we wait for the same thing again to get home. We wait, at the cashier's queue most oftenly, the mall, the bank, the post office...etc...

Or maybe things that aren't that obvious, we wait for someone's call? someone's reply to our email, someone's decision or action- to whatever that is...How long we have to wait every time is another relative subject. But most of the time, waiting is such a waste or time and can be frustrating. How often do we need to be reminded to be patient? Every time we frown and rant about why we have to wait? That would make us frowning and ranting every minute of life! And yet at the same time telling ourselves to be patient...As if there is any other things that we can do about during the time when in fact all we could have done is to wait.

I wouldn't categorise life as short. I prefer to define life as living in different stages. You only have a few years from the day you are born before you have to give up drinking milk from the bottle. You only have a few years before you are 12 to be considered children and enjoy the privileges children have, like getting the kiddies pack from the air stewardess or special kiddies meals with cute shaped pastas and chocolates. You only have a few years as a teenager before you turn 21 and considered "adult". At the same time, you only have a few years to enjoy student life and get student privileges...10% off TopShop? cheaper meals, movie tickets, train or bus tickets etc etc etc. You only have a few years of being young and healthy before you turn 30 and having friends around you with big bellies, growing in width and not height? having your relatives asking when you getting married or have kids...etc etc...And then you only have a few years to establish your career and/or family before you turn 40 and having people asking you what you have achieved in life during a high school mates gathering...

Coming back to the waiting game...we don't have that much time to wait. It's only 10+ years to go to school and pass the exams and get into uni etc. It's only 9 years before we aren't 20 ish anymore and our skin starts to wrinkle, considered old or not suitable to give birth (BLA)? It's only that few ten to twenty youth years that our heart can handle the bungee jump, the world's tallest roller coaster? the ten of thousands feet of sky dive?...before we are striked with the risks of heart attacks, high cholestrol, blood pressure...etc ... etc...

So, if you ever felt you are waiting for something, no matter is it going to be one minute, one hour, one year or even one decade, And if you ever felt you wanted to do something but are at the same time waiting for some other things to happen before you can do it, re-evaluate if that wait is ever necessary in your life, because we don't have that much time to wait!

Must Haves?

It's one of the weekends where I don't have to travel back and forth Manchester as I have already moved most of my stuff down. Finally, I have a weekend on my own, where I can do anything I wanted. Got dragged out for bowling tmr nite with Debbie and Alex, but I still have the rest of the weekends to myself.

Today at work: Spent the first half of the day looking through How to handle database transactions using the Spring Framework. Then after lunch, volunteered to help out in the warehouse to pick and pack. It was fun at first as it was my first time. But trust me, it gets boring and tiring when you have to stand there and pick for 3 hours!!! Got back to the office around 4 ish and finish up rest of the work, sent out a weekly report and went home.

Binging

Just had the wireless broadband set up today. No more excuse of being abducted to Mars and not updating my blog.

Today is the third week of work, and spent the whole day debugging a NullPointerException (Okok...don't be mistaken, I'm not a geek!)

Hmm lets see...

Ok here goes, spent half of the chinese new year in Manchester, went down to London to meet up some friends and went home for the rest of the cny days...got my passport back just in time to eat "lou sang" :)). Trip back home was alright. Didn't have much time to spend but managed to eat some cny food and meet up with amy and did a lil shopping.

Then the days since starting work is more or less uninteresting to talk about. Went to the induction bla bla bla and have been reading on jsps and struts bla bla bla...

Credits to Darren though..driving all the way to Hatfield, and getting sick for one week after that :P...Hope Darren's flu infected kidneys get better soon :P.

In serious need: a table, a decent chair, a diary book and a notebook preferably B5 size :)
